QMJHL Roundup: Darcy Ashley leads Mooseheads to fifth win in a row

HALIFAX - Darcy Ashley had two goals and an assist to lead the Halifax Mooseheads to their fifth win in a row, 5-2 over the Drummondville Voltigeurs in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action on Thursday.

Drummondville (13-10-1) took a 2-0 lead in the first period with power-play goals from Guillaume Gauthier and Jerome Verrier.

It was all Halifax (17-8-0) after that, with Danny Moynihan, Matt Murphy and Ashley making it 3-2 after two periods. Timo Meier made it 4-2 just eight seconds into the third period, and Ashley picked up his second goal of the game at 14:32.

Jonathan Drouin, who was picked third overall in this year's NHL draft by the Tampa Bay Lightning, assisted on three goals for Halifax. He has nine goals and 23 assists in 15 games this season.

Zachary Fucale handled 26-of-28 shots for the Mooseheads, while Drummondville goalie Louis-Philip Guindon stopped 26-of-31 shots.

CHICOUTIMI, Que. — Guillaume Gelinas scored twice in the opening period and assisted on Anthony Mantha's league-leading 23rd goal of the season in the second period to give Val-d'Or a 3-0 lead, as the Foreurs went on to beat the Sagueneens.

Julien Gauthier completed the scoring for Val-D'Or (13-10-0) in the third period.

Laurent Dauphin and Jeremy Bouchard scored for Chicoutimi (13-12-0).

Keven Bouchard made 22 saves for the Foreurs, and Domenic Graham stopped 25 shots for the Sagueneens.

VICTORIAVILLE, Que. — Angelo Miceli snapped a 2-2 tie in the second period to lead Victoriaville to its win over Saint John.

Mathieu Ayotte and Ross Johnston scored for the Tigres (10-12-1) in the first period.

Nathan Noel scored for the Sea Dogs (6-15-2) in the first period and Spencer Smallman tied it for the visitors in the second.

Sebastien Auger was busy in the Saint John net, making 40 saves, while Brandon Whitney made 28 saves for Victoriaville.
