Hamilton Tiger-Cats, Calgary Stampeders pull off swap of Canadian receivers

HAMILTON - The Hamilton Tiger-Cats acquired Spencer Armstrong from the Calgary Stampeders for Simon Charbonneau-Campeau in a swap of Canadian receivers.

The six-foot-one, 185-pound Armstrong, a Toronto native, finished last season on Calgary's practice roster. The 2009 fourth-round selection appeared in one game and joined the Stampeders last August after serving with the U.S. Air Force.

Armstrong played four seasons at Air Force, registering 18 receptions for 320 yards and three TDs. He also rushed for 118 yards and a touchdown.

Charbonneau-Campeau appeared in 27 games over two seasons with Hamilton, registering nine catches for 115 yards. The six-foot-four native of St-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Que., played collegiately at Sherbrooke and was taken in the fourth round, No,. 25 overall, by the Ticats in the 2012 CFL draft.

Charbonneau-Campeau finished as Sherbrooke's all-time leader in catches (138) and receiving yards (2,477).
