‘I definitely think so’ – Reijnders’ brother believes long-term Milan stay will happen

The brother of Tijjani Reijnders – Eliano Reijnders – has revealed his belief that he will stay at AC Milan for a long time yet.

There is no doubt that Reijnders has been one of the success stories in terms of Milan’s recent signings, having become an undroppable member of the starting line-up and feeling right at home.

He arrived from AZ Alkmaar in the summer of 2023 and has already played a number of different roles. What remains a constant though is his importance, both to the old coach Stefano Pioli and the new one Paulo Fonseca.

Reijnders has confirmed he’s in talks with Milan over new deal, which he did indeed state during an interview with Gianluca Di Marzio that was published earlier today.

Eliano Reijnders was interviewed by Corriere dello Sport and he was asked for his thoughts on how his brother is doing at Milan, his role and if he thinks he will stay.

“He did well in his first year too. But now he is really free in his mind. He feels important. It will always get better,” he said (via MilanNews).

“Ideal position? From my point of view he is an 8. Because in this way he can both attack and defend. He has no difficulty playing as a 6 [deeper midfielder] or as a 10 [attacking midfielder]. But, in my opinion, he gives his best as an 8.

“Let’s say that with Fofana at his side and Pulisic further forward, as happened against Real, Milan’s midfield works well. Will he stay in the Rossoneri for a long time? I definitely think so. I know he is already talking about a renewal with the club, even if I don’t know what stage they are at.”
