About last night: Price explains massive side-eye at Therrien

Before Carey Price would get to talking about his 250 career win, he had some ‘splainin’ to do about what happened the night before.

In Friday’s tilt versus the Sharks, Price was pulled by Montreal Canadiens head coach Michel Therrien after allowing four goals.

The Habs’ star netminder was none too pleased about getting the hook and showed his displeasure as he stormed off to the locker room; throwing a not so subtle stare down at his coach on his way.

He declined to speak with the media after the game.

The move by Price had hockey pundits recalling the day of when another Habs superstar goalie stormed off the ice only to never play for the team again…

But that was Patrick Roy and not Carey Price.

Price doesn’t quit when things get difficult. Instead he has private – not often public – tantrums, as Eric Engels detailed post-Price stink-eye:

Price addressed what he did after the Canadiens defeated the Washington Capitals on Saturday night.

“I was just pissed,” said Price to reporters. “I don’t think anybody can blame me in that situation.”

Yes, Carey, but to whom did you direct your ire?

Price said, “myself, everybody.”

He was quick to point out that he and Therrien were ‘all good.’ It probably helped that the coach nixed his plan to start Al Montoya against Washington after Price was pulled.

So, in the end it was a whole lot of nothing. We got a reaction out of a normally calm, cool and collected goaltender who countered it the following day with an equally calm, cool and collected response.
