DTotD: A flying kick to the face from Ligue 1

If you thought Zlatan Ibrahimovic held the Ligue 1 monopoly on dangerously high flying kicks, this incident proves otherwise.

Bastia were leading Reims 2-0 on Saturday when Malian midfielder Sambou Yatabaré went for a 50/50 challenge with Reims’ Gaëtan Courtet. Unfortunately, Yatabaré decided to use his foot while Courtet used his head, which meant the latter was treated to a face full of studs.

Despite his wounds, Courtet was able to continue for the final 15 mintes of the match, while the referee made sure Yatabaré hit the showers a little early.
