Sidney Crosby fights Brandon Dubinsky (Video)

Sidney Crosby got into a fight? Yikes! Yup it happened in Thursday evening in Pittsburgh’s game against the Columbus Blue Jackets.

As Seth Rorabaugh from the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette informs us, there’s some history with Dubinsky once calling Crosby names from Dubinsky’s days with the New York Rangers.

Why did they fight here? It seems they got tangled up after a Dubinsky hit on No. 87. That or just hatred amongst the two.

Said Crosby after the game about what caused the fight via Empty Netters:

“Nothing really. It wasn't much of a fight really.”

Said Dubinsky per the Columbus Dispatch:

“He was trying to pull me down and I was holding on to him. We both got up, he dropped his gloves and I dropped mine, obliged. We know how hard he plays. Any time you get a chance to make a tradeoff with one of the best players in the world, I’ll take it. I’ll take him for five in the box.”

This can’t be the most fun activity for Penguins fans to watch – mostly because of the Crosby concussion drama that lasted oh … parts of two seasons. But when a star of Crosbys ilk fights, it’s notable. Like the handful of times Wayne Gretzky fought.

Per Hockey Fights, this is Crosby's seventh NHL fight, including the playoffs.
