Ryan Sproul scores goal via back glass bank shot (Video)

It’s proper street basetball etiquette that when you take a shot and intend to use the backboard, you call “bank.” Grand Rapids Griffins defenseman Ryan Sproul would be best served to notify opposing goalies when he’s about to go “bank” himself in the future.

During the Griffins’ 5-3 victory over the Lake Erie Monsters on Wednesday night, Sproul went full "bank" as his second period shot sailed over goaltender Calvin Pickard, off the back glass, off of Pickard’s back and into the net.

Now that is how you get bounces to go your way.

The goal extended the Griffins’ lead to 4-0 and chased Pickard from the game, helping Grand Rapids snap a six-game losing streak. It also marked Sproul’s first of the year.
