Puck Daddy’s 2014 NHL Trade Deadline Live Blog, Hour 3

11:50 a.m. ET -- Word is that the Rangers are trying hard to get St. Louis to New York in time for tonight's game against the Toronto Maple Leafs. That should be a fun media scrum after the game.

11:25 a.m. ET -- Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports is reporting that Martin St. Louis will be heading to the Rangers in exchange for Ryan Callahan, a 2014 second rounder and a 2015 1st round pick. Here's Wysh's take.

11:20 a.m. ET -- Marian Gaborik to the Los Angeles Kings? It's close, according to the Star Tribune's Michael Russo and Nick Kypreos of Sportsnet. The Kings were rumored to be in the market for Thomas Vanek and Matt Moulson. Gaborik's been limited to 21 games this season after injuries to his collarbone and knee. He was also dealt from the Rangers to Blue Jackets right before the 2013 deadline.

Checking the waiver wire, Cory Conacher will be heading to familiar locale as the Canisius grad was picked up by the Buffalo Sabres.

11:05 a.m. ET -- The news out of Winnipeg is that forward Mark Scheifele will miss the next 6-8 weeks after injuring his knee Tuesday night against the Islanders. How will this affect GM Kevin Cheveldayoff's approach to the deadline?

Eric Duhatschek thinks a team could possibly take Dany Heatley off the Minnesota Wild's hands today in order for them to grab Thomas Vanek today rather than wait for free agency. Think of it like an NBA deal where a team trades for an expiring contract solely for the cap space come the summer time.

Back to Martin St. Louis, TSN's Bob McKenzie reports that talks between the Lightning and Rangers have heated up and a deal is possible. Ryan Callahan and some "significant" draft picks would go to Tampa in return for the Lightning captain.

If, as McKenzie believes, the Lightning don't have any interest in retaining Callahan after this season, shouldn't Steve Yzerman hold out for more?

Don't forget, we'll be grading the deals using our patented Milbury Scale.
