Nick Bonino spins around Michael Del Zotto for pretty goal (Video)

Michael Del Zotto is not what you’d call a shutdown defenseman. He’s pretty good in the offensive zone, but in his own end, well, his play leaves much to be desired — just ask New York Rangers fans.

Midway through the first period of Thursday’s game between Del Zotto’s Philadelphia Flyers and Vancouver Canucks, Nick Bonino scored a highlight-reel goal at the defenseman’s expense:

Bonino-rama!

To be fair, we can’t put the entire breakdown on Del Zotto. Bonino’s on a one-on-two and somehow is barely threatened by the Flyers' defense or a backchecking Brayden Schenn. And because of that the Canucks took a 1-0 lead on a pretty goal.

The goal was only Bonino's third since Nov. 6, but hopefully a good sign for the Canucks that his offense is waking up.
