Mike Condon makes incredible glove save behind his back (Video)

Montreal Canadiens goaltender Mike Condon got creative with a glove save on Carolina Hurricanes center Eric Staal on Saturday night.

Staal flipped a puck seemingly over a sprawled Condon, who then batted the puck away with his glove as the puck flew toward the open net. Check out the above video of the play.

Starter Carey Price, who is out the next six weeks with a lower body injury, once made a similar save with his blocker.

Said InGoal magazine:

It’s almost like making saves behind your back is a requirement of playing goal for the Canadiens, or something… Kids: Please continue to practice making saves the conventional way (in front of you), but don’t be afraid to show a bit of desperation every once in a while!

The Habs lost the game 3-2. Condon stopped 26 of 29 Hurricanes shots on goal. He’s 9-4-3 with a 2.22 goal-against average and .913 save percentage.
