HC Davos wins Swiss league, breaks trophy (Video)

Switzerland’s HC Davos won the National League A title for the 31st time on Saturday night, defeating Marc Crawford’s ZSC Lions four games to one.

We all know how celebrations go. They’re wild. Players and staff are exuding emotion at winning a championship; and, well, sometimes things happen. (Remember when Zdeno Chara nearly fell over lifting the Stanley Cup for the first time?)

As the Davos players were heading to the dressing room to continue the celebrations, team manager Paul Berri was handed the trophy by Felicien DuBois, only to watch it fall to the ground.

Despite the broken trophy, Reto von Arx, noting the most important factor, put it best: “One can still drink from it!"
