Charlotte Checkers’ ‘Ice Ice Baby’ music video slices like a ninja, cuts like a razor blade (VIDEO)

The Charlotte Checkers of the American Hockey League play their home opener on Nov. 4 vs. the Chicago Wolves, and the team is doing whatever it can to drum up interest. Even if it means choreographed tomfoolery like a players and ice girls version of "Ice Ice Baby," the classic tune by Caucasian hip-hop legend and admirer of Queen baselines Robert Van Winkle.

Here are the Checkers, with a healthy dose of early 1990s nostalgia, sending word to your mother:

The players featured in this Vanilla Ice tribute are Justin Krueger (3), Victor Rask (10), Michal Jordan (29; what, no Scottay Pippen?), Riley Nash (20) and Sean Dolan (16).

For those keeping score at home: Krueger is rocking the hoodie and shaking his moneymaker; Dolan was sporting the handkerchief like a Crip; and Rask was the one at the 37-second mark that appeared to be churning butter. Or something.

We appreciate the Checkers giving this their best effort, fully aware that anything less than the best is a felony.
