Ohio State’s Kenny Guiton throws for six TDs in first half against Florida A&M as Ohio State scores 55

There were some ridiculous spreads in college football this week, but no one was expecting a 55-point lead at halftime.

That's what Ohio State had at halftime against Florida A&M, blanking the Rattlers 55-0 on the heels of six Kenny Guiton touchdown passes. Yes, six. It's a school record, and he accomplished that in the first half. Guiton's touchdown passes were 11, 7, 1, 5, 15 and 15 yards, respectively.

How ridiculous is that? Through the first three weeks of the season, only 23 FBS quarterbacks had more than six touchdown passes in the entire season, and Guiton, subbing for an injured Braxton Miller, was already one of those.

Now, Ohio State definitely knows it doesn't have to rush Miller, a preseason favorite for the Heisman Trophy, back from his knee injury. Guiton was great at Cal in Week 3, his first start, and has been fantastic against an overmatched Rattlers team that received $900,000 to travel to Columbus. (We can't call Guiton perfect, however. He did throw an interception.)

The game wasn't supposed to be competitive anyway. Ohio State was favored by 50, one of eight games with point spreads of more than 40 this week. But did anyone expect the Buckeyes to cover that in the first half? Ohio State went on to win 76-0.

And, no, the first half was not even close to being on pace for a record margin of victory in college football. Georgia Tech, your 222-0 win over Cumberland in 1916 is safe. At halftime, that game was a whopping 126-0.
