Thomas Bjorn destroys lens of $80,000 camera with his shot
The British Open is underway, and we have our first casualty!
The first hole at Muirfield is already claiming plenty of scorecards, and now it's claimed an expensive camera lens, too. Thomas Bjorn was hitting out of the rough, an admittedly unpredictable shot, and pow! right on the lens. Mike Tirico indicated that the camera costs $80,000; one would hope that the lens is replaceable...or that ESPN kept the receipt.
ESPN's Trey Wingo offered up a close look at what a golf ball does to a camera:

Bjorn can only hope he shoots with equal accuracy at the pins.
