    Saipem signs $1.9 billion deal with TotalEnergies in Suriname

    Italian energy contractor Saipem said on Thursday it signed a $1.9 billion deal with a subsidiary of TotalEnergies in Suriname for the subsea development of the GranMorgu offshore project. The full project, expected to last 5 years with a first oil in 2028, represents the first major subsea development in Suriname and will consolidate Saipem's presence in South America, the company said in a statement.
