KILMARNOCK, Scotland (AP) — Celtic clinched a third straight Scottish league title with a game to spare on Wednesday. A 5-0 win at Kilmarnock gave Celtic an unassailable six-point lead over fierce Glasgow rival Rangers. It's the first silverware of Brendan Rodgers’ second spell in charge and moved Celtic onto 54 league titles — one behind Rangers’ record total in Scotland. SALZBURG, Austria (AP) — Jürgen Klopp’s longtime assistant Pep Lijnders will coach Austria's biggest club Salzburg next season as their era at Liverpool comes to an end. Salzburg said Wednesday it hired the 41-year-old Lijnders on a three-year contract. It means Lijnders should take Salzburg to the revamped Club World Cup in June 2025 which Liverpool will miss. Toronto FC will be missing its coach and four players through suspension for Wednesday's game at Nashville SC after the MLS Disciplinary Committee handed down its initial verdict on Saturday night's ugly post-game melee with New York City FC.
