Player Notes
Giancarlo Stanton went 2-for-3 with double, a two-run homer, and a walk in Wednesday's victory over the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Stanton is killing the baseball these days. He has six homers in his last nine games and, overall, is hitting .258/.374/.596 in 107 plate appearances. The strikeouts will prevent him from competing for a hitting title, but at 6-foot-6 and with 80-grade power, that's not what he's programmed to do. The 26-year-old is meant to crush homers to all parts of the field. He has an outside shot at hitting 50 this year, if he remains healthy.

Giancarlo Stanton is not in the Marlins' lineup Friday.

Advice: He's just receiving a day of rest. The Marlins have Ichiro Suzuki in right field and in the leadoff spot in their first game without Dee Gordon. J.T. Realmuto and Adeiny Hechavarria are also getting breathers, as Jeff Mathis is catching and Miguel Rojas is at shortstop.

Giancarlo Stanton went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Thursday's win over the Dodgers.

Advice: Stanton's solo homer off reliever Pedro Baez in the eighth boosted the Marlin lead to 5-2 and offered a nice insurance run in the process. The superstar slugger is now slashing .253/.352/.560 with seven homers and 18 RBI over 75 at-bats as April draws to a close. Even with the somewhat middling average, he is an elite power hitter.

Giancarlo Stanton hit a three-run home run off Clayton Kershaw in Tuesday's 6-3 win.

Advice: Back-to-back RBI singles by Martin Prado and Christian Yelich had already brought home two runs against Kershaw when Stanton stepped to the plate with one out in the sixth inning. He did what sluggers do, turning a small inning into a big one and connecting for a three-run home run to center that traveled an estimated 425 feet. Yowza. Stanton's Marlins are treading water at 8-11, but that is through no fault of his own. He is slashing .246/.338/.536 with six homers and 16 RBI across 69 at-bats. With Tuesday's homer, he has now gone yard in three consecutive games.

Giancarlo Stanton homered, doubled and walked in the Marlins' 3-2 defeat of the Dodgers on Monday.

Advice: Stanton has yet to get hot, but he has five homers in 17 games anyway. No one else on the Marlins has more than two.
