Player Notes
Jed Lowrie went 2-for-3 with two runs scored in Sunday's win over the Astros.

Advice: Lowrie scored the first and last runs of the game, giving him 14 on the year. That's good for fifth in the American League. Lowrie also walked in the game, giving him 16 through 18 games. When healthy, Lowrie is proving to be one of the better offensive shortstops in the game.

Jed Lowrie went 3-for-5 with a walk, two doubles, an RBI, and a run scored in a win over the Angels on Tuesday night.

Advice: Lowrie had collected only two hits over his last six starts, sandwiched around Sunday's maintenance day off, so it was nice to see him put a charge into the ball a few times. Despite the lack of hits, he's still been doing damage by drawing 14 walks, good for second in the AL. He's never been a great contact hitter, but that .244 average will rise a bit as pitchers realize that Lowrie is perfectly content to allow them to beat themselves.

Jed Lowrie is not in the Athletics' lineup Sunday.

Advice: Lowrie dealt with a bruised leg last week, but this appears to just be a day of rest. Nick Punto is filling in at shortstop.
