Genoa have been unable to reach a cut-price agreement to sign Tottenham defender Djed Spence. The Italian club were keen to make Spence's loan spell permanent but have been unable to agree a fee below the £8.5m option to buy included in his contract last season. Spence had been open to a move back to Serie A after impressing during his 16 appearances in the division.
