    Lookman scores again and Europa League champion Atalanta beats Torino 3-0. Roma won't qualify for CL

    Atalanta followed up its Europa League title with a 3-0 win over Torino in Serie A on Sunday and ended Roma's hopes of qualifying for the Champions League. Gianluca Scamacca and Ademola Lookman scored first-half goals for Atalanta and Mario Pasalic added a penalty after the break as the Bergamo side moved up to fourth place, one point ahead of Bologna. Lookman was coming off a hat trick in Atalanta’s 3-0 win over Bayer Leverkusen in the Europa League final on Wednesday, and the Europa League trophy was on the sideline before kickoff.

    Why Hearts won't receive a bye into Europa League group stage

    Hearts' hopes of receiving a bye straight into the Europa League group stage have been scuppered courtesy of Atalanta's fourth-placed finish in Serie A. After the Italian outfit beat Bayer Leverkusen to win Europe's second tier competition on Wednesday, Steven Naismith's side were eyeing an easier path into the competition. Had Atalanta finished fifth - and Borussia Dortmund won the Champions League on Saturday - a place in the group stage was Hearts'.

    Giroud scores in his last AC Milan match on a night of farewells at San Siro

    Olivier Giroud scored in his final match for AC Milan as the Rossoneri drew with bottom club Salernitana 3-3 on a Saturday night of farewells at San Siro. The 37-year-old Giroud, who helped Milan to the Serie A title in 2022, is leaving after three years and will join Los Angeles FC. Giroud was given a standing ovation when he was substituted off six minutes from time, hugging all of his teammates and coach Stefano Pioli as the crowd sang his name.
