    Savanier scores sweet volley then gets red card as Montpellier beats Toulouse

    PARIS (AP) — Teji Savanier scored a goal-of-the-season contender and was sent off as Montpellier won at Toulouse 2-1 in the French league on Friday. The veteran midfielder caught a cross from the left with the sweetest of volleys to put the visitor ahead after 26 minutes.     CF Montreal coach on report of Choiniere trade request: 'Everyone wants him to stay'

    MONTREAL — Laurent Courtois is aware of the report that Mathieu Choiniere wants out. CF Montreal’s head coach, however, isn’t keen to coach a squad without the homegrown talent. Choiniere — who broke out as the club's MVP last season — is a player Courtois leans on as much as anyone. “Everyone loves Mathieu, everyone wants him to be valued, everyone wants him to stay here," Courtois said Friday.     AL-RAYYAN, Qatar (AP) — Japan left it late to win its second Under-23 Asian Cup after beating Uzbekistan 1-0 in the final on Friday.
