    Bruce Springsteen pauses European tour over vocal issues

    Springsteen initially postponed a show scheduled in Marseille, France on Saturday night but has now put the tour on hold until 12 June. Gigs in Prague and Milan are among the shows affected. "Following yesterday's postponement in Marseille due to vocal issues, further examination and consulting has led doctors to determine that Bruce should not perform for the next ten days. With this in mind, additional postponements are required for Airport Letnany in Prague (originally scheduled for May 28th) and San Siro Stadium in Milan (originally scheduled for June 1st and 3rd).

    Philippines protests China's annual fishing ban

    The Philippines has protested China's imposition of a unilateral four-month long fishing ban in the South China Sea, its foreign ministry said on Monday. The annual imposition of a fishing ban raises tensions in the South China Sea, the foreign ministry said, calling on Beijing to "cease and desist" from "illegal actions" that violate the Philippines' sovereignty and sovereign rights. China imposes an annual fishing ban on South China Sea waters and the Philippines routinely opposes it.

    Alibaba's AliExpress recruits Beckham to 'score more' global sales

    AliExpress, an e-commerce site owned by Chinese giant Alibaba, has signed former England soccer captain David Beckham as a brand ambassador as it plays catch-up with rival PDD Holdings' Temu in a battle to sell cheap made-in-China goods to the world. A low-key cross-border player until recently, Alibaba is now investing aggressively to boost global sales as domestic e-commerce growth wanes. Its international division, which includes AliExpress, is its fastest growing unit with revenues surging 45% year on year over January to March.
