Player Notes
Mike Trout went 1-for-5 and scored two runs as the Angels defeated the Nationals on Tuesday.

Advice: Trout struck out three times, the continuation of an uncharacteristic trend. He has now struck out in 15 of his last 38 plate appearances. His 28 percent strikeout rate on the season is well above last season's 19 percent rate. Trout has still been incredibly productive, but it's something to keep an eye on.

Mike Trout blasted a two-run, game-tying homer off Sean Doolittle in the ninth inning against the A's to send the game into extra innings on Tuesday.

Advice: Los Angeles eventually lost 10-9 in 11 innings. It wasn't Trout's fault, as he finished 3-for-6 with three RBI and two runs scored. Despite having lost Josh Hamilton, the Angels currently lead the majors in home runs. This was Trout's fifth bomb of the year, and he's now slashing .317/.369/.650.

Mike Trout went 3-for-4 with a home run and two runs scored in the Angels' 14-2 win over the Mets on Sunday.

Advice: Trout started the onslaught with a home run off Bartolo Colon in the first inning. He was hitting .257 heading into the weekend but swatted seven hits in 15 at-bats over the three-game series, raising his average to .320. He's second in the American League in home runs (4) and slugging percentage (.633) through two weeks. Ho hum.
