Player Notes
It's just a routine day of rest for Avila being a day game after a night game.

Advice: Bryan Holaday will get the start behind the dish against opposing southpaw C.J. Wilson. Avila, who is hitting just .182/.308/.242 with no RBI on the season, should return to the lineup on Sunday.

Alex Avila went 0-for-3 and struck out twice against the Padres on Friday.

Advice: Avila hit .306 this spring, even though he struck out 22 times in 49 at-bats. The regular season has seen more strikeouts, but no hits to go along with them; he's currently 2-for-19 with 11 strikeouts and four walks in seven games. He'll probably sit out at least one game this weekend with Victor Martinez potentially starting behind the plate.
