Player Notes
Josh Reddick will not require surgery on his left thumb.

Advice: Reddick, who fractured his thumb on a head-first slide on Thursday, got the good news while visiting a hand specialist Monday. The expectation is that he'll miss 4-6 weeks, which places his return around late-June or early-July.

Josh Reddick is scheduled to see a hand specialist on Monday.

Advice: The expectation is that he'll be sidelined for the next 4-6 weeks, but the A's will know more and have a clearer timetable after Monday's appointment. Billy Burns, Coco Crisp and Khris Davis will hold down the fort in the A's outfield until Reddick returns.

Athletics placed OF Josh Reddick on the 15-day disabled list with a fractured left thumb.

Advice: Reddick injured the thumb Thursday when he caught it on Starlin Castro's cleat while stealing a base. He's expected to be on the shelf for 4-6 weeks. Billy Burns, Coco Crisp and Khris Davis should hold down the outfield spots for the A's while Reddick is out.

Josh Reddick is likely to be sidelined at least 4-6 weeks after being diagnosed with a fractured left thumb.

Advice: Reddick caught the thumb on Starlin Castro's cleat as he stole second base in the seventh inning Thursday. Although he initially remained in the game, he felt too much pain when attempting to put on his glove after the inning and was pulled. X-rays revealed the bad news. Reddick will meet with a hand specialist Friday, at which point a clearer timetable should be available. However, the feeling is that he'll probably miss a month, at minimum.

Josh Reddick went 2-for-3 with a solo home run and a steal in Thursday's loss to the Yankees.

Advice: Reddick was the breadwinner on the evening, with his one-out solo homer against Yankees starter Ivan Nova in the fourth inning proving to be the only run of the game for the home team. The 29-year-old outfielder is working on a little baby five-game hitting streak. He is slashing a hearty .322/.394/.466 with five homers, 18 RBI and four steals in 41 games. So far, so good on the health front for the oft-injured Reddick.

Thu, 19 May Rotoworld
Josh Reddick is not in the Athletics' lineup Sunday.

Advice: He's getting a day off with the Rays throwing lefty Matt Moore. Billy Burns is in right field and Coco Crisp is in center. Chris Coghlan is also sitting out, as Tyler Ladendorf is handling second base.
