Player Notes
Joey Votto went 2-for-4 with a two-run blast in Saturday's whipping of the Diamondbacks.

Advice: The other hit was a double. Votto has been wreaking an unholy vengeance on baseballs since the All Star break. Entering tonight's game he was batting .442/.542/.682 in the second half of the season (38 games). That line will be even scarier after tonight's action. He started the season with a two-month slump that is keeping his season-long numbers depressed. Overall he is batting .311/.435/.527 with 21 home runs, 76 RBI, 82 runs scored and eight stolen bases.

Joey Votto went 3-for-6 with four RBI in the Reds' loss to the Dodgers on Monday afternoon.

Advice: Votto hit an RBI single in the third inning, an RBI double in the fourth inning, and an RBI triple in the bottom of the sixth. He had a shot at a rare natural cycle when he came to the plate in the bottom of the ninth but instead hit into an RBI groundout. What a shame. The first baseman has a stellar .309/.433/.522 batting line with 20 home runs and 72 RBI in 121 games this season for the last-place Reds.
