    Police gathered outside Donald Trump’s criminal trial in New York after a man set himself on fire close to the courthouse on Friday, 19 April. The trial was breaking for lunch when the man self-immolated outside the New York Criminal Courthouse. Mr Trump faces 34 counts of falsifying business records to conceal a payment made to adult film star Stormy Daniels to keep quiet about an alleged affair.

    A man has set himself on fire outside the courthouse in New York where former US President Donald Trump is on trial. The man was in the designated protest area outside the courthouse. It comes after jury selection for Trump's hush money trial concluded with 12 people, and six alternatives, chosen to decide whether the former US president covered up payments to women who alleged they had affairs with him.
