How valuable could Justin Fields be for fantasy managers?

Yahoo Fantasy expert Andy Behrens examines the rookie quarterback's fantasy potential when he takes over under center in Chicago.

ANDY BEHRENS: You don't really need an expert to tell you what the dominant pressing question is that hangs over the Chicago Bears right now. It's pretty simple. When do we see this guy right here? When we see Justin Fields? When does he take over at quarterback for Chicago?

Obviously, the team expended a bunch of draft capital to trade up, get him in the 2021 draft. It's an exciting move. Yes, Andy Dalton is blocking his path right now. No, that won't last for long.

Here's just my guess. Here's just what I'm thinking as a moderately informed Bears fan. Look, they open with a pretty tough stretch of games. They get the Rams to start off the season. It's the Bengals early. That's an exciting offense. They get the Browns.

These are pretty good teams. There's a path here for the Bears to start out, let's say 1 and 2, hopefully not 0 and 3. If that happens, the clamoring is going to be too much. We are definitely going to see Justin Fields at that point.

Obviously, he brings a dimension to the offense that Andy Dalton does not. He's a hyper-mobile quarterback, also throws just a beautiful deep ball. He's going to be well paired with Allen Robinson, with Darnell Mooney, with Tarik Cohen, with young tight end Cole Kmet.

This could get to be a pretty frisky offense, especially with Fields at the controls. Can't wait to see it myself. And then there's a path. If we get 13, 14 games out of Justin Fields, he has a shot to break the Bears all-time single season passing record, which stands at a pathetic 3,838 yards-- shout-out to Eric Cramer.

He can do that. He can also give us 400-plus rushing yards, and that is going to be a heck of a fantasy season. I think he takes over probably in October.
