Back on September 10, 1990, Will Smith officially crossed over from rapper to actor as "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" premiered on NBC. It's been 30 years since Smith moved in with Uncle Phil and Aunt Viv, and 27 years since Tyra Banks started her acting career as Smith's ex-girlfriend from Philly.
Banks told Yahoo Entertainment that even though she got the part, the audition got off to a rocky start. She explained that all she knew about the character was that she was Smith's ex-girlfriend from Philly and she played basketball. So Banks showed up to the audition dressed like she was ready for a pick-up game, while every other girl was in a black dress and heels. "I was sitting there feeling so dumb," Banks said.
