Significant Flooding Affects North Carolina Coast

Heavy rain triggered significant flash flooding in southeastern North Carolina on Friday, May 19, as several inches fell in parts of the coast, the National Weather Service (NWS) said.

Video posted by the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office shows flooding conditions. The sheriff’s office shared photos of the flooding in the area throughout the day on Friday.

Drivers were reminded to “never” attempt to drive through flooded roadways.
