Rudy Giuliani’s daughter says Biden endorsement was her own 'October surprise'

Just one day after an article her father was involved with was published that was meant to take down Joe Biden, Rudy Giuliani’s daughter Caroline had an article published in Vanity Fair that was anything but kind to her father’s boss, President Trump. In the article, Caroline wrote of a toxic administration, and said in the interview with Rachel Maddow that her father’s behavior is cause for concern because of the people he chooses to surround himself with, describing a mob mentality that she says he feeds. And while the New York Post article that Rudy was involved with, a possible attempt at an October surprise, may have fallen flat, Caroline hopes that her article will serve as an October surprise of her own.

CAROLINE ROSE GIULIANI: We haven't spoken since the article was published, but-- and so I'm not sure how he feels. But I know that if I were him, I would be very proud to have a daughter who's using her voice for what she believes in.

- Caroline Rose Giuliani, daughter of President Trump's personal lawyer, Rudy Giuliani, appeared on the "Rachel Maddow Show" Thursday night, where she spoke about an article she wrote for "Vanity Fair," urging people to vote for Joe Biden.

On Wednesday, Rudy was involved in a "New York Post" story about Biden that, rather than being the October surprise he expected, has been highly scrutinized and is being investigated as possibly being part of a foreign intelligence operation. And Caroline said that her scathing rebuke of her father's boss was an October surprise of her own.

CAROLINE ROSE GIULIANI: I think a lot of people can relate to despair over politics. And that's really what I wanted to speak to. I don't have any-- you know, I live in LA. I don't have any inside information on anything like that. But I just thought maybe I could be the other October surprise, you know.

- Caroline was also asked about her father's erratic behavior in interviews, but said that's not what causes her concern.

CAROLINE ROSE GIULIANI: Certainly being concerned about his public behavior, not for those reasons per se, but just because he's involved in this whole group of people. I think it's less about him specifically and more about this mob mentality that has been created and that he's feeding, unfortunately.
