Raw: Police provide update to Essex barricade situation

Shots were fired from inside a house in Essex amid a barricade situation, police said. At 3 p.m., Baltimore County police spokeswoman Joy Stewart said officers were called around 11:10 a.m. Monday to the 900 block of Thompson Boulevard for a weapons incident. Stewart said officers are trying to resolve a barricade situation involving an armed man, who fired some shots from the location. No injuries reported. Stewart said the man is alone in the house at the time. A portion of the Back River near the house was closed by police marine units as a precaution.
