Police out in Force After Deadly Rochester Mass Shooting

Two people were killed and 14 others were injured in a mass shooting at a house party in Rochester, New York, in the early hours of September 19, local reports said.

Acting Rochester Police Chief Mark Simmons said a man and a woman, both aged between 18 and 22, were killed at an illegal house party near Goodman Street and Pennsylvania Avenue. They were among 16 victims who had been shot.

This footage shows the scene in Rochester shortly after the shooting with a heavy police presence.

Police said they were called to the house about 12:25 am on Saturday and officers arrived to a chaotic scene in which a crowd of about 100 people gathered. Simmons told reporters at the scene “this is truly a tragedy of epic proportions.”
