NICK BROMBERG: And then there were three. Not long after the Big Ten said it was postponing football and all fall sports to the spring of 2021, the Pac-12 followed suit. That leaves the ACC, Big 12, and SEC as the only three Power Five conferences that are still looking to play football in the fall of 2020. As of now, just 77 of the 130 teams at college football's top level are planning to play in the fall.

The SEC, most notably, has pushed the start of football season back till September 26. The reason, the conference said, is to give itself a chance to look at the data of coronavirus trends on campuses after students get back on campus. Will the Big Ten and Pac-12 decisions impact the SEC in the near future? Probably not, but the SEC may have a closer eye on its health data going forward now that the Big Ten and the Pac-12 have already reached a decision to go ahead and postpone.
