The newest singing competition show, The Four, premiered Thursday and it didn't take long for judge Sean "P. Diddy" Combs to throw some shade at The Voice and American Idol. Diddy looked straight into the camera and said, "Attention, America, no karaoke singers. This is not that show. This is a battle show. This is not like the other shows."
Unlike those "other shows," The Four is really simple. It starts with four hand-picked artists who are really talented. Then other artists come out and sing for the judges. If they put on a good enough performance, they get four blue rings on the floor, if not they get red rings. Once someone gets four blue rings, then they pick one of the original four artists to battle against in a sing-off. The audience then votes on who they like more and the winner gets to stay in one of the four chairs. Ok, maybe it's not so simple. But at least there were some really good performances.
