Over/Under Week 13 - Tyler Lockett

Will the Seattle WR go over/under 4.5 total receptions in week 13?

Video Transcript

ANDY BEHRENS: All right. First over-undie and we're talking about the theater of pain that is the Seattle offense. That has been miserable to watch lately. We're looking at Tyler Lockett, and we're studying what should be a really low number here. 4 and 1/2 receptions for Tyler Lockett. I'll get us started, and my answer is no.

I think he's going under because I need a prove it game from this offense. Obviously, since Russell Wilson has returned from that finger injury it's been bad. It's been real bad. Lockett, himself, only has five targets in each of his last two games. How about nine catches over his last three? It's been ugly.

Seattle can't even stay on the field. Over these last three games, their average time of possession is 19 minutes and 36 seconds. That is last in the league by-- I don't know-- like, five minutes, something like that. It's been terrible.

I just can't trust him right now. I'm taking the under. Matt, I know there's no way you're taking the under in a Tyler Lockett question.

MATT HARMON: No, I'm not, but I feel like an idiot. If it's our first over-undie, I'll put my big boy britches on, and I'll go ahead and give you the case that I think he can actually get to five. That's probably it though.

Like, it probably is just barely over this one. I will take the over here just because I really don't like the match-up of the Seattle wide receivers versus this San Francisco 49ers secondary. I think there are some issues there for the 49ers in the back end, especially in the slot corner position where we should see Tyler Lockett get a decent amount of his run.

And if anybody has survived, like barely survived, this little rough stretch from Russell Wilson since he came back, it's not even close between Lockett and DK. Lockett is up at like 17.9 yards per catch since Russ's comeback. Whereas DK is down there like 8.1. So I feel like you can trust Lockett just a little bit more than Metcalf in a game they should be trailing a lot. But man, yeah, it's tough to make this case.

ANDY BEHRENS: Well that, was a ringing endorsement. Liz, break the tie.

LIZ LOZA: Andy, I am with you. You mentioned that this is a very low number. Well, surprisingly, Lockett has only cleared this line three times all year. Those teams-- Tennessee, the Rams, and Jacksonville-- all three of those teams, by the way, inside the top 12 in terms of fantasy points allowed to the wide receiver position.

Emmanuel Moseley, who should see some coverage for Tyler Lockett, pretty good, allowing a passer rating of just over 70, averaging only two and a half catches per game allowed. And, frankly, there's been too much talk about DK Metcalf's lack of involvement/down play for me not to think that there could be some squeaky wheel grease situation here. So I too will take the under.
