Off Their Game Week 7 - Tee Higgins

Matt Harmon explains why the Bengals WR will struggle in week 7.

MATT HARMON: I don't know if I can really tell you to bench Tee Higgins in a week where so many good receivers and so many good players are on bye overall. Like, do you really have a better option? I don't know. But you might because things are not going well for Tee Higgins so far.

Things are really not going well for anybody that's not named Ja'Marr Chase in this receiver room because Joe Burrow has thrown 35 passes in just one game this year. For context, he cleared that in 8 of 10 games last year. And one of those games that he didn't clear it was a game against Washington, where he got hurt.

This is a huge shift from the Cincinnati Bengals. They are much more of a run-first operation because they want to protect the aforementioned injured Joe Burrow. So that has pushed down the volume for all of these players.

Tyler Boyd, forget it. He's cooked with that low ADOT. Even Tee Higgins is not getting the explosive pass plays that we saw last year because those are all going to Ja'Marr Chase. The guy's got 7 targets in just 1 game this year. So pretty disastrous. I don't know that you can really consider him a wide receiver 3 anymore. I think he's more of a boom-bust 4 or 5.
