Mule Creek State Prison inmates graduate from Sacramento State

A cap and gown, and a second chance are what inmates at Mule Creek State Prison in the Ione area of Amador County celebrated Wednesday morning. A total of 10 inmates received their bachelor’s degrees in communications from Sacramento State. One of them is Michel Owens, who’s served 25 years in prison after a life of crime on the streets. He said being a college graduate was the last thing he’d ever thought he would be.
