Mad Bets: Will the Rams cover -3.5 vs. 49ers?

Minty Bets, Jared Quay & Matt Gothard give their picks for the upcoming Sunday Night Football game between the Rams vs. 49ers.

MINTY BETS: Every football Sunday ends with Sunday Night Football. This week, we've got the San Francisco 49ers hosting the LA Rams. The Rams are laying 3 and 1/2 points on the road, and the total is set at 51 and 1/2. Let's start with Jared. What's your favorite pick for this game?

JARED QUAY: Well, we're looking at two previous Super Bowl losers here, and so this is the first time I feel like I've been excited. Because they both have been awesome in the last two years, and they're both kind of mediocre. And so I'm gonna take the home dog here. I'm gonna go with the Niners. I think they're gonna get it back going.

I bet with the Rams against the 49ers before. And I can tell you right now, if there's one thing Kyle Shanahan knows how to do, it's shut down McVay's system. And so I just think right now the talented players and the better team right now. Even though the Rams have had a great year to this point, I still like the Niners as a home dog. Give me 3 and 1/2.

MINTY BETS: Wow. I thought you were gonna go with the Rams because of what we talked about before the show. But, Matt, what about you? Who are you going with?

MATT GOTHARD: I'm just still shocked that he called the Rams mediocre. I mean, they've been pretty solid this year.

But I do agree with you. I'm taking the 49ers and the points. 3 and 1/2 is a lot in this game. It could be very close. And that hook is very scary. I'm taking the Niners.

MINTY BETS: OK, well I have to go with the Rams here. I think they're the more dominant team on both sides of the ball, and we've seen the Niners struggle. We're still not really sure who's gonna be under center.

And guess what, the Rams are 3-0-1 against the spread versus NFC West opponents. So I'm on the Rams minus 3 and 1/2. I'd bet it now before the line moves up to 4 or 4 and 1/2 though.
