Mad Bets: Will the Patriots cover -7 vs. Jets?

Minty Bets, Jared Quay & Matt Gothard give their picks for the Patriots-Jets game on Monday Night.

MINTY BETS: This Monday night, we've got the New England Patriots taking it to New York, taking on the Jets. The Patriots are laying 7 on the road here. And the total is set at a low, low 42 and 1/2. Jared, I'd love to know your thoughts for this game.

JARED QUAY: Well, you know, this is usually one of the marquee match-ups of the AFC East. Belichick hates the Jets. But he's usually pretty good, since he sucks here. You know what, I was going to go Patriots because Cam Newton is a good quarterback to me and the Patriots do have name recognition. But I'm going Jets.

I think the Jets cover here. I don't know if they're going to win it. But I just feel like, you know what, Bill Belichick needs to feel the pain and wrath for the Jets once in like the last-- you know, he's beat them like 40 times. So, yeah, I'm going Jets, just for that reason alone. No actual sporting, just my gut feeling, guys.

MINTY BETS: We love gut feelings here. Matt, what do you think?

MATTY GENIUS: There's no way I can take the Jets in this one. My brother is a die-hard Jets fan. And the only bet that I have consistently won this year is when he's talked me out of betting on the Jets. Even last week, the Chiefs was easy money. So in this game, I'm trying to look for a little bit more value, though.

The Patriots, they don't seem that great either. So I'm going to do a 6-point teaser-- take the Patriots down to minus 1, take the under up to 48 and 1/2. I think it's going to be a low-scoring game. But I'd be really shocked if the Jets win this one. I'm sorry, Jared.

MINTY BETS: All right. And I actually am going with the under here. The Jets offense, they're averaging about 12 points per game. They're only completing like 56% of their passes and have only reported seven touchdowns so far this season.

The Patriots are no better. Their offense is only reporting about 20 points per game. And Cam hasn't looked himself. He's recorded seven hits already. So give me the under, as I think it's going to be a snooze fest.
