Mad Bets: Lakers vs. Clippers Betting Odds

Minty Bets is joined by Josiah Johnson and Zach Schwartz to give their picks for the upcoming matchup between the Lakers vs. Clippers.

MINTY BETS: As we get closer to the resumed season of the NBA, the betting lines have been released for the league's restart. So I'm here with Josiah and Zach of Dunk Bait to give us their thoughts on a few matchups. July 30 is the projected date for the first set of games.

Of course, we have to go over the Lakers and the Clippers. Now, Lakers are a slight favorite at -1.5, and the total is set at 217.5. Zach, what do you think about the Lakers? Will they win by two points?

ZACH SCHWARTZ: Unfortunately, no. I think the lack of-- you know, I'm a Laker fan. The lack of them having a real point guard right now, even as I'm saying this to Josiah who's rocking that wonderful Caruso shirt.

The lack of them-- they're not gonna have Rondo. They're not gonna have Avery Bradley. I think it's gonna really hurt them, especially with the unbelievable guards that the Clippers have and that they can throw at them throughout the game.

The number that I really like on this game-- I don't really like betting the points on this one. I do like betting the under. I just think there's gonna be a lot of rust, and I think that's where you're gonna kind of see the value in the game.

MINTY BETS: Love it. Josiah, do you agree?

JOSIAH JOHNSON: I'm gonna agree with Zach to bet the under because I think there's gonna be a lot of sloppy basketball. It's gonna take at least a couple weeks for them to get their legs underneath them. I'm gonna to say this. Look, obviously Rondo breaking in his hand was terrible for the Lakers.

But that's just gonna give Caruso more shine. He's had the last four months to get his mind right. You know, we don't know if the Lakers have been practicing. But if they were, I'm sure Caruso's with LeBron every day preparing mentally for this moment.

And I just think, you know, obviously Pat Bev has his head in other places. He's rocking polo white tees. So I just don't really have enough respect for him as a human being to be able to lock down the Lakers in this first game.

ZACH SCHWARTZ: [LAUGHING]

JOSIAH JOHNSON: The first game when the season starts. So I'm gonna say Lakers are gonna win by five, and I take the under on points.
