Mad Bets: Can the Giants stop Tom Brady?

Minty Bets, Jared Quay & Matt Harmon debate whether the Buccaneers will pass for more than 256 yards in their Week 8 game vs. the Giants.

Video Transcript

MINTY BETS: It's Monday Night Football, and we've got a special prop for you guys over at BetMGM. Win $10 for every 20 passing yards by the Bucs offense. The Bucs are averaging 256.8 passing yards per game, which would pay $128.40. So my question to you guys is over or under 256 passing yards for the Bucs against the Giants? Let's start with you, Matt.

MATT HARMON: I love that we're having this debate right now because I think the Bucs on balance are the best team in the NFL. I think they have the best defense in the NFL. And their offense can beat you in several different ways, which makes this question so difficult. Like, if the Bucs want to come out and they want to run an up tempo passing game, you can easily see them dice up a defense like we did last week against the Raiders.

Or they can get a lead with their defense and rely on Leonard Fournette or Ronald Jones or whoever in the backfield and run up that way like they did with the Packers the week before that. They could beat you in so many different ways. So this is a tough line. But I am going to go with the over on this one because I think when they do look at that Giants defense, they're eighth right now in rushing success rate allowed.

They're a pretty good run defense overall, and they have James Bradberry in their secondary, who's traveling with top guys and playing really well. But again, I think Brady can pick and choose the match ups, and that's why the Giants-- take away what Bradberry does, they're 23rd in passing success rate allowed. So I think that's the way they're going to choose to beat up on this Giants team. I see this as a big prime time performance for Tom Brady, for sure.

MINTY BETS: Wow, OK. Jared, do you agree? Over?

JARED QUAY: I think that the Buccaneers are strong. I think they're going to be pretty beat up, though. Like, we're not sure if Godwin's going to play, Antonio Brown's not eligible yet. Mike Evans is a beast. This is my honest opinion, I think in the first half, they're going to run up the score and they're going to get a bunch of running yards to get a good lead. And then Bruce Arians does what he does best and runs up the score.

Brady does a couple play action [INAUDIBLE] for over 250. But it's going to be one of the things that you're going to be biting your nails the whole game until late in the fourth quarter. Why throw a 57-yard touchdown to Mike Evans? Because Bruce Arians has him in his fantasy team. I don't know, but I'm going over here.

MINTY BETS: Right, all right. I'm also going over here. I seem to underestimate Tom Brady every single week. And I'm just not going to do that again this week. I know Chris Godwin might be out, but he still has Mike Evans and Gronk, which we've seen a lot of on the field. So give me the over.

MATT HARMON: Scotty Miller too, shout out to Scotty Miller. That guy's starting to make it happen too. I mean, that's what I'm saying. The Bucs can beat you in so many different ways. Take away one guy, it doesn't really matter.
