Mad Bets: Will the Eagles cover -7 vs. Cowboys?

Minty Bets, Jared Quay & Matt Gothard give their picks for the Cowboys-Eagles game on Sunday Night.

Video Transcript

MINTY BETS: Sunday ends with an NFC match-up between the Cowboys and the number one in the NFC East, Philadelphia Eagles. So the Eagles are laying seven points at home and the total is set at 43 and 1/2. Pretty low here. Matt, what's your pick for this lovely game?

MATT GOTHARD: Well I'm just so happy we get this game. Right? I mean, who wouldn't want to watch the Dallas Cowboys without anybody at quarterback against the Philadelphia Eagles? You know, when you watch Sunday Night Football this year, underdogs against the spread have been doing amazing, 6-1.

So there's no way that I'm going to take minus seven away from this Eagles team. I'm taking the Cowboys plus seven. You look at this Eagles team, Carson Wentz takes enough touchdowns away, takes enough touchdowns off the board. There's no reason to put any money on the Eagles.

I'm going Cowboys. And even though they had a lot of question marks, I might spring a little bit on the money line.

MINTY BETS: Hm. All right, Jared, what do you think?

JARED QUAY: You're not going to-- You mean to tell me the team that almost lost to the Giants on prime time football had to have a miracle comeback, because David Jones doesn't know how to fall forward? I'm not betting the Eagles minus seven.

They can't beat anybody minus seven. They tied the Bengals. Cowboys still might not have Dak. Their line may be beat up, but he got DeMarcus Lawrence and they got Ezekiel Elliot. And that alone might be enough to beat them.

Carson Wentz is sacked a tremendous amount of times and he's throwing picks, like left and right. I wouldn't be surprised if the Cowboys defense took a step up and actually helped them win this game. But I'm not going to say that on a show publicly , because I'm taking that plus seven.

MINTY BETS: Jared, I thought we had a talk and you weren't going to bet on the Dallas Cowboys--

JARED QUAY: I know. I can't. I'm addicted. I'm addicted.

MINTY BETS: All right. Well I'm actually laying the seven with the Philadelphia Eagles. I actually kind of like the under here, but it's set so low. I think the Eagles' secondary can hold off Dallas' sloppy offense. Especially with their rookie third string quarterback.

But I feel more comfortable laying the seven here. I think they're a much improved team and I can not bet on Dallas anymore. I've lost too much money. And I think they just, frankly, given up for the season. So Eagles minus seven for me.

MATT GOTHARD: Let's go Cowboys.

JARED QUAY: There we go, Gothard. I've been waiting for you to say that for weeks.
