Mad Bets: Will the Eagles cover -4 vs. Giants?

Minty Bets, Jared Quay & Matt Gothard give their picks for the Giants-Eagles game on Thursday Night.

Video Transcript

MINTY: It's Thursday Night Football, everyone, and we've got an OK match-up here between the Eagles and the Giants. The Eagles laying four points at home, and the total set at a nice low 43 and a half. This game is tough.

Matt, let's start with you first. What do you think about this Thursday Night Football game? Who you got?

MATT: I don't really know what to think about this game, except for the fact that I need some kind of rooting interest so my wife can't convince me to watch the presidential debate. So I'm try to look at some trends here, trying to see how we can make some money. And I saw that the favorites on Thursday Night Football are 1-4 so far. So 1-4 is not that great.

The only thing worse is 0-5, and that's what I am on Thursday Night Football. I'm taking the Eagles, man. I don't really like the Giants. I think that the Eagles defensive line is the only thing that's like a decent form of football in this game.

I'm riding with the Eagles minus four. Totally going to regret it, but do what you got to do in this time.

MINTY: Thursday Night Football, totally regrettable. And then Jared, what do you think?

JARED: Well, I think [? Godfrey's ?] not going to be 0-6 on Thursday Night Football, because not only do the Eagles not cover, they don't win the game. I'm telling you guys, the Eagles offensive line is bad, bad, bad. And they got so many injuries, and coming on a short week with Zach Ertz being out.

I like the-- I like the Giants defensive line. I like Markus Golden. I like Leonard Williams and Dexter Lawrence to get to Carson Wentz in his face every play.

And I think Danny Dimes throws a couple more times. They got their first win of the season. And technically, this could be a playoff game for these guys. They both only have one win, but they're also one game out of first place, so I like the Giants to come heavy here. I like them to get the win outright.

MINTY: OK, I just cannot choose a side here, so I think I'm going to go with the over. It's set pretty low at 43 and a half. I know both offenses are bottom 10 when it comes to scoring offense. And neither defenses I don't think I can expect much, so give me the over, simple as that.
