Legendary Baltimore filmmaker John Waters receives honorary degree from UB

A famous special guest at the University of Baltimore's 2023 commencement ceremony received an honorary degree on Wednesday. University President Kurt Schmoke congratulated students and introduced a special guest. "Today, we are presenting our honorary doctor's humane degree to Baltimore's own John Waters, a legendary filmmaker, social commentator and, as you soon come to understand, a landmark intellectual," Schmoke said.
