Large Dust Devil Spins Across South Minnesota Field

A large dust devil was seen spinning across a field in Windom, Minnesota, as the National Weather Service (NWS) warned of potential funnel clouds and wind gusts up to 50 miles per hour.

Nathaniel Klassen, who recorded the video on May 9, told Storyful that he first noticed a thunderstorm coming through the area before realizing the dust devil was forming.

On Tuesday, the NWS warned that scattered thunderstorms could produce small hail and strong winds across the region, adding that “any funnel clouds that develop are expected to be weak and not touch the ground.” Credit: Nathaniel Klassen via Storyful
