Kevin Smith speaks out on Martin Scorsese’s criticism of Marvel movies

Actor and director, Kevin Smith, is chiming in on Martin Scorsese’s comments about Marvel movies. In an interview with “Empire” magazine, the Oscar-winning filmmaker indicated he wasn’t a fan of the comic-book genre calling the movies “not cinema” and comparing them to “theme parks.” His remarks generated backlash among Hollywood actors and directors. Smith told Yahoo Entertainment he has an emotional attachment to superhero movies because they remind him of the time he spent with his father. “When I see those movies, that is the closest I get to being with my dad in a movie theater again.” Smith went on to say that he doesn’t think Scorsese has “the same emotional attachment that a lot of us have.”
