Jury recommends death penalty for Sacramento man who killed family at Land Park home

A jury has returned a verdict of death against a Sacramento man convicted of killing his family at their home in South Land Park. Salvador Vasquez-Oliva was convicted on May 1 of four counts of first-degree murder and other charges in the March 2017 slayings of his wife, 45-year-old Angelique Vasquez, their two children, 14-year-old Mia and 11-year-old Alvin Vasquez, and his niece, 21-year-old Ashley Coleman.
