John Bolton slams Trump’s 'incoherent' remarks on military leaders

Former national security advisor John Bolton slammed remarks President Trump made about military leaders. In a wide-ranging, often meandering press conference on Monday, Trump said that the troops love him, but that top officials at the Pentagon probably don’t because he’s not keeping us at war. Trump claimed that military leaders want to keep the U.S. at war to keep defense manufacturers happy. Bolton called the remarks incoherent, and likened it to something one might hear from Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA). Following a recent report claiming that Trump disparaged fallen American soldiers, Bolton, a Trump detractor, said he’s never heard the president do so. But he doesn’t believe it’s out of the realm of possibility because, as he put it, “The president has a habit of disparaging people. He ends up denigrating almost everybody he comes in contact with whose last name is not Trump.”
