Homes Flooded as Cyclone Mocha Batters Western Myanmar

Homes were inundated by floodwater after Cyclone Mocha made landfall in western Myanmar on Sunday afternoon, May 14.

The cyclone made landfall in Sittwe, the capital of Myanmar’s Rakhine state, at around 1:30 pm local time, Myanmar Now reported.

This footage, which was livestreamed on Facebook by Sittwe resident Bhone Hlaing at 1:22 pm local time, shows a flooded property and winds battering trees while a warning siren blares.

Radio Free Asia said at least six people were killed across Myanmar.
